**The packaging order is real. The new capacity is still two years away.**

GlobalFoundries said on 8 October that it has a five-year, $2 billion agreement to make silicon interposers for Taiwan Semiconductor’s advanced chip packaging. It expects volume production at its New York site to start ramping in the first half of 2028. That is a meaningful demand signal, but it is not $2 billion of sales today or proof of attractive margins.

There is a useful tension here. Taiwan Semiconductor reported September revenue of NT$511.86 billion, up 54.6% from a year earlier. Demand is visible now; a new piece of packaging supply has a long buildout. The investment question is who can turn that gap into reliable cash flow without overpaying for capacity.

In Millionaur’s 9 October portfolio snapshot, TSM is a small direct line at roughly 0.5% of NAV. The memory fund DRAM is about 3.5%, and cash is about 22.7%. These are snapshot weights, not synchronized live prices across every exchange. The memory fund’s completed weekly close near the owner’s existing decision level and TSM’s 15 October results are review conditions, not trades reported here.

A press report about one AI customer’s revenue has raised a fair question about who ultimately pays infrastructure invoices. Reported sales, signed agreements, management plans and investor estimates deserve separate treatment. GF’s 2028 ramp is a plan; TSM’s September sales are reported.

For copiers, the useful habit is to follow both sides of a bottleneck: demand today and the cost and timing of supply tomorrow. Concentrated chip exposure can fall sharply if spending slows, margins disappoint or new capacity arrives sooner than expected. This is research, not a promise or a trade instruction. Copy trading involves risk of loss.
