28 September 2026 | Portfolio snapshot: 18:51 Bucharest / 11:51 New York.

Before Micron reports, I am watching what customers commit to, not just what memory prices do.

In its 24 June prepared remarks, [$MU](https://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=MU) described 16 strategic customer agreements. The largest generally include both price floors and ceilings. That can improve visibility, but it also limits how much higher market prices flow through to existing products. This is a useful question for the 30 September call, not a new announcement on the publication date.

There is another distinction worth keeping clear: customer funding is not the same as sales already earned. Micron's June 10-Q expected USD22 billion of deposits and related commitments, including about USD18 billion of cash deposits. Those were expectations across agreements, not cash all received in that quarter.

What I want to learn next: are contracted volumes holding up, are customer payments arriving, and does the next-quarter outlook support the investment being made? A strong past quarter alone cannot answer all three.

The portfolio already has exposure through Micron, Samsung, SK hynix and [$DRAM](https://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=DRAM), plus other funds. Different tickers can still depend on the same customers. DRAM is about 2.66% of total portfolio value; direct Micron is about 1.07%. The latter understates the total Micron exposure because funds own it too.

The 28 September account record also changed after the morning review: the direct Qualcomm position and one [$PTF](https://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=PTF) position closed. PTF remained held at that snapshot. Cash stood at about 15.36%. Those are verified account observations, not a claim that I placed new trades while writing this update.

My preference is to keep that flexibility through the report. A small memory addition could make sense after sound guidance and customer evidence, at a price that still compensates for the risks. A disappointing outlook or weaker commitments would argue for reassessment. Available cash is a funding source, not a deadline to buy.

Wednesday, 30 September, has two separate tests: US personal income and spending data, including PCE inflation, at 08:30 ET; Micron's call at 16:30 ET. The Fed's 16 September rate increase is a reminder that good company results and valuation pressure can coexist.

Cash and short-term inflation-linked bonds such as [$VTIP](https://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=VTIP) serve different roles. VTIP can still fall when real yields rise. Neither energy shares nor semiconductor equipment should be assumed to protect the portfolio in every selloff.

Asian markets and European core sessions were closed by this snapshot; these are dated portfolio marks, not simultaneous live prices everywhere.
